Happy spring! I donāt know about you, but weāve had a rough past few weeks to end the winter ā sickness galore has abounded in our home. With much of the illness behind us, I’m ready to welcome springtime and freshen up our home!
Spring always evokes a sense of cleanliness, freshness, and a sense of newness. These are the senses that I try to pull into my home as I transition for this new season. So for todayās blog post, I wanted to share five tips to transition your home for spring.
(1) Change out your winter bedding for lighter spring bedding. Think lightweight, breathable natural fabrics such as cotton, linen, or bamboo! These fabrics will help keep you cool in warmer weather!
(2) Declutter and deep clean, in that order. Move room by room, setting out boxes to collect gently used, unstained, unbroken items for donations and trash disposal. With fewer items in the way, you can deep clean more effectively!
(3) Introduce fresh or faux florals, greenery, and fruits into your home decor to channel the freshness of spring.
(4) Incorporate spring colors and prints in your couchās throws and pillows. Think lighter color palettes and materials: lightweight throws replace wool and chenille throws, and pillows with playful patterns sub in for boucle and fur-covered pillows.
(5) Let in some fresh air! If you can, open your windows to let in some fresh air. No can do? Try candles with lighter fresh scents like floral, citrus, and fresh herbs.
