I used to consider myself a very organized person until my family began to grow. First, the laundry started to pile up and was left out, rather than put away. Then, as my practice grew, caring for the home fell from a daily practice to a day-long ordeal on Saturday. Now, with marriage, four children to raise, and a busy professional life, caring for the home is not on my schedule as often as I’d like and I feel overwhelmed. Any other moms feel overwhelmed with keeping up with the home and work? With my maternity leave ending soon, I want to go back to work knowing my home is organized. Enter: My Home Organization Project. I am finally taking on different areas of my home in need of organization, one small task at a time to be graceful to myself. I started with under kitchen sink organization. Ta-da!
Here’s how I organized under my kitchen sink. The following content contains affiliate links. When you click and shop the links, we receive a commission.
1. Lazy Susan/Turntables.
Instead of pulling out various items to get to a cleaning spray bottle way in the back, I can now swivel these turntables to quickly grab the bottle I need. The best part about these turntables? They hold quite a few bottles without taking up as much space as the bottles do when scattered under the sink.
2. Stackable Drawers
Large containers and boxes under the kitchen sink take up unnecessary space. The solution? Clear stackable storage drawers. Emptying the contents into clear drawers reduces visual clutter, clears out unsightly packages, and provides a visual cue on how much product we have left. Plus, it is so much easier to grab what we need instead of digging around to find the right box. These two sets of stackable storage drawers got the job done and work well together.
This is a smaller project, but taking it on made me feel so accomplished and energized to take on the next area! If you’re feeling overwhelmed with organizing your home, try starting a smaller task like under sink organization.
